My Story

I came to my yoga & meditation practice originally due to extreme depression and anxiety that I faced after undergoing some traumatic experiences, of all times, around my transition from high school to college. I was also experiencing the grief and regret of losing a friend, and a difficult family relationship through it all.

From the moment I entered my school's yoga studio, I felt at home. I found that the more I practiced, both on my own and in group classes, the more I was able to see my emotions versus just experiencing them with no control over how they affected me.

I not only started to feel more organized mentally and stable emotionally, but I started to notice a pleasant side effect - I wasn't waking up sore in the morning, and my tension headaches had gone.

 

Once I started to delve into more of the philosophy of Yoga, I was sold. I knew this would be something I would practice for the rest of my life, and it would be even more amazing if I could help others do the same.

 

From there, I went on to get my 200 hour certification, and went down the rabbit hole to learn as much as I could.It's still a daily practice, and a lot of times I struggle to maintain my yogi-like mindset, but it's become so much more than a tool to manage stress in my 13 years of practice and 10 years of teaching.

 

It's become a part of me, and a part of why I'm here. I absolutely love helping others experience Yoga and especially love introducing it to people brand new to the practice!
